This guide provides a starting place for MVC faculty, staff, and students to learn about ChatGPT and generative AI and how to use it responsibly.

DALL-E3

Getting Started with DALL-E (in Copilot or ChatGPT-4)

DALL-E 3 is OpenAI’s latest iteration of its image and art generation AI tool. It is easy to use - you can either prompt it to generate a new image, or add an existing image and prompt to edit the image to meet certain specifics. You can access this tool for free in Copilot's image creator. or in ChatGPT Plus with a paid subscription. (See the previous page for how to create an account with Copilot and ChatGPT.)

Here is an example of the photo output from the Copilot Image Creator, from the following prompt: "image of dinner plate with meatballs and spaghetti, with a glass of wine, on a picnic table near the ocean, with seagulls in the sky as the sun sets"

  • To use in Copilot Image Creator, go to https://bing.com/create.
  • In Copilot, start your prompt with "create an image of..." or "generate an image of..."

Perhaps the following promotional video for DALL-E, showing how AI image generation can be used alongside AI text generation, will spark ideas for your next OER project!
