Introduction to LibreTexts: Open Question Banks

This guide provides an introduction to LibreTexts and its features.

Opening ADAPT's Question Banks

ADAPT is an adaptive learning platform but also has over 1,900 questions within their question bank. It is different from their Studio platform, as Studio focuses on creating and sharing H5P interactive activities.

  1. Log into LibreTexts Conductor and click on the blue rocket ship icon in the top-left.
  2. You should see a number of tools listed under Your LibreVerse. Click on ADAPT. (If you do not see these, try to log in again)
  3. Once you log in, click on the Dashboard button at the top-right.
  4. You will see a number of options. Click on Search Questions (shown below)

Drop down menu showing My Courses, My Questions, My Learning Trees, Search Questions, Browse Learning Trees, Public Courses, Commons, and Frameworks

Using ADAPT Questions

  1. Before you can save, edit, and use ADAPT questions, you will need to create a course. Within ADAPT, click on the blue New Course button.
  2. Fill in the options for your course and click Save. (Our LMS is not currently integrated with LibreTexts. We're working with IT to integrate them so you can utilize these questions in Canvas).
  3. Once you have a course set up, you will need to search for questions and clone them to add into your course.

When searching for questions within ADAPT, you can limit by Type, Content, Technology, Author, and more.

  • Type options: Any type, Question, Exposition, Report
  • Content options: Either content type, Auto-graded only, or Open-ended only
  • Technology options: Any technology, WeBWork, IMathAS, H5P, Native, Open-ended
    • WeBWork: An open source homework platform for the math and sciences including college algebra, discrete mathematics, probability and statistics, and calculus. However, it can and is used by other subjects as well.
    • IMathAS: A web-based math assessment tool for delivery and automatic grading of math homework and tests.
    • H5P: Interactive, HTML5 compliance activities. These are often dynamic, interactive activities; however, many activities have challenges with accessibility. ADAPT and Studio can be set up to provide alternative activities (for accessibility) for interactive H5P activities.
    • Native: Native activities are those built within the ADAPT platform itself. They may or may not use a combination of these other technologies.

Once you find a question that you want to use, you can click on it to try it out. The screen that pops up will give you the following options: Share, View Solution, clone, add to my favorites folder.

When you Clone a question, you can save it to one of your courses.
