MVC Library: National Poetry Month

National Poetry Month

April is National Poetry Month!!

National Poetry Month

The library is inviting everyone to celebrate with us by writing a letter, poem, etc. to "Dear Virus."

Submit your letter or poem in the form below. The library will periodically post those letters, poems, etc on this page. Submissions are anonymous!

This idea was inspired by a quarantined nursing home resident who recently posted a poem to Facebook entitled "Mr. Virus."

"Dear Virus"

Opening the windows Not letting my heart close To the possible hope Of a new day One where we are all free To feel the sun's warm breeze And hold our friends and family Closer than ever - Anonymous

Dear Virus, Life was fun Life was good You came And took Our livelihood. - by Funny Guy

Dear Virus I face myself In the darkest time Solitude and isolation The only friend of mine I cannot see a future I cannot see a light I see death and decay No vaccine in sight As mankind suffers You spread your disease I hope and pray Our minds are put to ease. - by Depression
