Author of award-winning novel, There There, Tommy Orange received a MacArthur Fellowship in October 2025. The MacArthur Grant is given to individuals that demonstrate outstanding creativity and show that there is potential for future work in their field. This has also been called the "genius grant" and is awarded to help talented individuals pursue their professions. There is no application for the award as recipients are chosen by a committee.
