What are database alerts?

Many of the library's databases allow you to set up alerts to notify you through email of the latest articles in your field. You can set up alerts to receive the latest issue of a publication, or you can set up alerts related to a specific search to notify you of new articles related to that search. You can schedule searches for the database to rerun automatically, with the latest results emailed to you. This guide provides instructions on how to set up these alerts for each database.

NOTE: You will need to set up accounts in the databases prior to setting up alerts. Please see the tab on how to create accounts.

Students are also more than welcome to set up database accounts as well as alerts. It's a great way to become familiar with the literature in a discipline!
